3T MRI imaging improves diagnostic accuracy, providing finely detailed imaging of the musculoskeletal system, especially in small joints that are harder to evaluate such as wrists, fingers and hands.
- Our sub-specialty trained radiologists can diagnose and evaluate:
- Degenerative joint disorders
- Fractures
- Joint trauma
- Sports related injuries
- Bone or joint infections
- Pain, swelling or bleeding in the tissues in and around joints and bones
- Spinal disk abnormalities
- Spinal cord injury after trauma
Patient Preparation
There is very little preparation for the MRI procedure. To ensure your safety, you will be asked questions regarding your medical history. You may eat normally and go about your daily routine. Continue to take any medications prescribed by your doctor unless otherwise directed. A contrast agent may be administered by injection to allow the images to be more distinct. Because of the magnetic field, you will be asked to leave coins, jewelry, watches, glasses, credit cards, keys, hairpins, and other metal objects in a safe place outside the scan room.
