Mal Verne Inniss, MSN, APRN, ACNPC-AG, CCRN, VA-BC

Mal Verne Inniss, MSN, APRN, ACNPC-AG, CCRN, VA-BC, is an acute care nurse practitioner at Imaging Specialists of Charleston, LLC. He brings more than 20 years of critical care and interventional radiology experience to the practice.

Mal earned his Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner postgraduate certificate from Purdue University Global. He also holds a Master of Science in Leadership and Management from Western Governors University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Wilkes University.

He has served patients at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center for nearly two decades in roles including Medical Intensive Care Unit Nurse Practitioner, Interventional Radiology RN, and Surgical and Trauma ICU RN. During this time, he became the first Board-Certified Vascular Access Specialist at the VA Medical Center, developed the hospital’s vessel preservation policy, and created its first dedicated Vascular Access Specialist Team. He has also instructed radiology residents in PICC insertion and led a nurse-driven portable PICC program for ICU patients.

Mal’s expertise includes central and arterial catheter placement, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and advanced vascular access procedures.
